Day 12 Chilling

Yet again its a beautiful morning. The temperature reaches the 30 degree mark and is still probably near to 20 degrees overnight.  We had a very leisurely breakfast in the hotel and then went for a walk around the streets near the hotel. Somehow we ended up near to the roadblocks by the Riverside Festival.  Still the people are pouring in, even though this is the 3rd day of the festival. Streets are closed off for miles around the festival site, which must cause chaos for the local businesses.

On our way back to the hotel we found a Chinese restaurant with a pleasant seating area surrounded by plants. We stopped for a drink.  Paul had his usual black coffee whereas I chose a honey and ginger tea (knowing ginger to be good for upset stomachs) This was served in a large glass coffee mug with sticks of fresh ginger floating on the top. I must say it was delicious.

Later in the day we sun bathed on the roof terrace beside the jacuzzi.  It was beautiful to watch the sun go down over the town, but then darkness falls.  The temperature is still very hot but somehow it doesn’t seem right to lay on a sun bed in the dark.  We went to the ground floor to use the swimming pool, but oh my goodness it was cold. It is built inside the building to the rear of the Reception so never gets the sun and is very deep.  Back to the roof then for a warm up in the jacuzzi.

We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant. I have seen the spotless clean stainless steel kitchen and the chef will make whatever you want. We were entertained for the third night with an amazing firework display being let off for the Riverside Festival.
