We woke to beautiful blue skies and were delighted with the views from our balcony.
To the left is a little bay with some sailing boats moored up. The sea is a beautiful turquoise and blue and as calm as a mill pool. From the front of the balcony we can see over the gardens with sun beds scattered around. Beyond the garden is the beach with more sunbeds and a tiny little bay.
We went down for breakfast, which involved walking across the central area and past the swimming pool. Breakfast was a buffet style with a menu to suit everyone. The choices were yogurts and fruit, cereal, and a selection of cooked food.
Having had such a long day yesterday we both lay on the bed and slept for the next two hours. We then had to go out and find a supermarket. It was a steep hill from the hotel up to the main road. We didn’t have far to walk when we found a bakery/coffee shop.
All the pies and cakes are hand made on site and there was a choice of warm pasties, sausage rolls etc. The opposite counter was full of beautiful cakes and pastries. There was also salads and sandwiches to choose from. You have to pay for the food and choose your table and then go into the adjacent shop for your drinks. I wanted an Earl Grey tea for which the lady serving reached fore an empty tea bag and filled it with fresh loose tea. We have never seen this done before.
We sat outside to eat our cheese and ham pastries with our drinks. Paul tried an iced coffee. There was a little view across the rooftops to the sea. It’s such a shame that there is a busy main road disrupting the view. The pastries were delicious.
A couple of shops away was the supermarket. It had everything a tourist would want. We purchased some bottles of water and a bottle of wine costing 4 Euros.
On our journey back to the hotel we found a path that we hoped would be a short cut. We walked through a car park and parallel to a hotel complex. We then arrived at a Greek Orthodox chapel. It is set in a beautiful setting overlooking the sea surrounded with a marble paving.
Once past the chapel we took the pathway down the lane which had red bollards across the path. This led us to the gardens of the hotel.
During the afternoon we sat on a sunlounger in the garden and chilled. We walked to the adjacent beach and I went for a paddle in the sea. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the water was as warm as a bath and I was able to walk straight in and have a swim around.
