10th December
So today we said goodbye to Chiangmai Mai. It was a place we said we would want to stay for longer as we enjoyed the pace. Last night while travelling to the Old Chiangmai show we discovered that the place was a lot bigger than we had at first thought. We would like to travel further north.
So it was get up early and go for breakfast to a little local restaurant just around the corner from the hotel.
We had asked for the hotel to book a taxi for us the night before. We were not surprised when the ‘Night Manager’ said he could not get through to the Taxi company, but would take us himself. ( just as he did when we enquirer about a Temple Tour!)

It was easy to get a Taxi at Bangkok Airport, but we had to learn the system of go to a machine and get a ticket, then go to a particular number Taxi. A good system as we were told the drivers name and his car number.
I had had the foresight to use Booking.com’s option to copy the hotel address in Thai and save to my phone so it was easy to tell the driver we were going to Buddy Lodge on the Khoisan Road, the ‘night life road!’ It was heaving when we got there.

Our room was not ready at 3:30pm so we waited in their coffee lounge till about 4:00pm. Unfortunately there was no Tea for Cheryl.

The room was big and clean and just what we wanted. On the top floor, away from the street noise …. no chance!

We went out for a street food and beer, of which there was plentiful supplies of both.
The music stopped about 3:00am! Or that’s when I finally fell asleep.
